2015, here I come!

I can't believe it, but it's already 2015!  This past year has been pretty crazy, but I couldn't imagine anything better to prepare and set me up for the new year!  A lot happened in 2014; some exciting, a little that wasn't so great.

1.  I finally got my license!  I had been putting it off for so long because I was so anxious about driving, and at 23 I really needed to overcome my fears, because living in a place where you pretty much have to drive everywhere, not driving was no longer an option, especially being out of college.  Now the next step is saving (something I'm unfortunately not the best at, #newyearsresolution) for a car of my own.  But for now, even just borrowing the car, the freedom feels amazing, and it's feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

2.  I expanded my horizons and started to push myself out of my comfort zone.  Food-wise, I've learned to love eating brussels sprouts (who knew?!  But with a little butter and some freshly grated parmesan, it's absolutely delish!), mushrooms (stuffed is the best!), and even some seafood (crab cakes and baked clams anyone?).

3.  I experienced my first breakup and then found love again when I least expected it.  My boyfriend has been a big part of helping me grow these past few months that we've been together.  I feel more confident and more motivated to take on things that would've scared me and therefore would've skipped doing altogether. He's a huge supporter and has encouraged me to try new things; he even taught me how to skeet shoot!

4.  I learned what I like, what I don't like, and what looks good on me.  My favorite part is always putting together an outfit with pieces that I would've never thought went together or that I wouldn't ever wear (some things just look too strange until you try it on).  I enjoy finding amazing pieces in unlikely places or scoring unbelievable deals (I've learned, and now love, thrifting).

5.  I've found that nail art is a great way to express your fashion sense.  And it's even better when you do the job yourself and people think it's professionally done (totally worth the extra time put into it)!  Some of the more detailed designs do take some serious practice, but even the simplest designs (some stripes or polka dots) can pack quite a punch!

6.  And last, but not least, I started Classically Cait.  While I'm still trying to figure things out, there's something so satisfying whenever I am able to post something.  I enjoy brainstorming and finding inspiration for my blog posts.  In 2015 I really hope to become a better blogger and to turn Classically Cait into something bigger and better than what I have now.

I'm seriously so excited for what's to come in this new year, and I can't wait to share it with y'all! Here's to having an awesome 2015!!  :)
