Headbands of Hope

Is there anything better than doing good while looking good?  I've partnered up with Headbands of Hope to share this super fun turban headband that's the perfect summer accessory, and also does some good for a child with cancer as well!

My sister and I took a day trip out to Greenport and I couldn't think of a better, more summery accessory, than my new headband!  This super cute headband was perfect for a sunny (and super hot) day out east; it was so humid and this tropical green turban kept my hair out of my face and off my neck, while still keeping me cute (win, win!).

Headbands of Hope donates one of their super cute headbands to a child with cancer with every purchase.  They believe that a headband is a great way to bring back a child's confidence-- look good, feel good!  Not only that, but they also take nominations for childhood cancer charities, and they'll donate 10% of sales to that organization (they even have a map with every hospital they've donated to thus far!).

Seriously, what better way to accessorize, than to be able to give back at the same time?

We also stopped at one of our favorite vintage shops, The Times Vintage, where I picked up an awesome 70's varsity jacket (I can't wait til the weather cools off again so I can wear it!)!

Red, White & Blue

...but not your average star-spangled inspired style!

Sometimes you don't want to look like you walked right out of a holiday card...and you don't want to spend an entire paycheck to look the part for one day.  I'd much prefer to get pieces that I can wear over and over during the season (or the rest of the year!), rather than be limited to wearing something just one day.

I got this J. Crew dress a few weeks ago because I'm in LOVE with the ruffle and the off the shoulder (probably my favorite summer trend!); plus, the chambray material and white stripes?  So cute!

I have a feeling I'll be getting a LOT of use out of this adorable dress this summer!

A little red bandana and watermelon clutch are the perfect pop of red to go with my blue and white dress!

Here's a little round up of some of my other favorite red, white and blue inspired outfits:

POPSUGAR Must Have Box (sponsored)

Mail days are the best; so I was super excited to find a box from POPSUGAR in my mailbox the other day!

How cute is this June Must Have box?  It's like Christmas in July!

One of my favorite things about subscription boxes is that you're able to try out a variety of products without lifting a finger; you can discover so many awesome new products that you might never have otherwise even heard about or thought of trying, and companies like POPSUGAR do all the hard work of finding those products and mail them right to your house!  It seriously doesn't get any easier than that.

Each month you'll get a box curated with lifestyle, health, beauty and fashion items.  Here's a peek at what's in their latest box:

HAT ATTACK DIAMOND PRINTED SARONG
My immediate favorite was the sarong. You can totally get so many uses out of a sarong other than just wearing it to the beach. The wheels are already turning in my head on how I can style it!

NCLA POLISH
The star spangled NCLA Born on the 4th of July is perfect way to add some patriotic sparkle to your holiday outfit!

KNOCK KNOCK COMPACT
This little compact mirror is adorable, and the perfect size for sticking in my makeup bag!

PRESSELS
I love finding new snacks to try, and these sriracha Pressels have the perfect kick for a quick and tasty snack!

"WHO AM I?" GAME
I love guessing games, so this card game is a total winner!  The packaging is adorable, and the game itself is easy and fun to play; perfect for throwing in your beach bag for a day out with friends!

"CHEERS" BOTTLE OPENER
I'm totally putting this little guy to use this summer; it's just so cute!

PACIFICA DEODORANT WIPES
And the deodorant wipes; how great to throw in your bag and go?  Perfect for heading to the gym, the beach, or just having handy on those gross, humid days.

There's so many fun items to test out, all from the comforts of home!  Wanna try a box yourself?  It's only $39.95 to subscribe!

Cover Up!

It's finally summer!  Time to break out summer dresses, swim suits, cover ups, sunnies and sandals 😁🙌.

When it starts getting hot out, I don't want to think too much about what I want to wear.  I admit, I get lazy. I like wearing pieces that are easy to style and comfortable for moving around in.

Enter, this aerie tank dress. So soft you could fall asleep in it; and so classic you can style it in a number of ways without roasting in the summer sun.

My friends know all too well, I'm not a fan of getting into a swimsuit; I've always been pretty self conscious. But as I've gotten older, and started working on becoming healthier I've been much happier with myself.

That being said, I don't dread buying swim suits anymore. It's made shopping for my summer wardrobe fun again.

One of my favorite pieces I've recently picked up from aerie is this striped cover up. It's the perfect summer layer that you can wear to and from the beach. I love the blue and white stripes and the fringe; it's such an easy, breezy piece that I plan on wearing all summer.

These J. Crew lace up gladiator sandals are PERFECT for summertime!  They're a chic, off white and made of a super soft leather.

If there's one thing I need each summer, it's a good, sturdy pair of sandals. I am, by no means, a flip flops kind of girl (I own one pair, for the occasional trips to get a pedicure); these are just right. They're a little pricey (although right now they're on sale!), but you can never beat classic and quality.

Cover ups make a great addition to a summer wardrobe...even if you're like me, and don't head to the beach very often!  They're great because they're super versatile, especially this aerie stripes shawl, like I'm wearing, because they're a bunch of different ways you can style it if you get creative.

What do you guys think of using your cover ups as part of your everyday summer look?  :)

Boho Gypsy Vibes

I may have found the perfect twirly summer dress...for $7 in H&M's clearance section!  It's times like this where I know it's just meant to be when a dress you've had your eye on for months suddenly appears when you're just just sifting through the clearance racks.

I cannot stress enough: the clearance section is your friend-- your BFF even.  If you can manage the patience to go through the clearance racks, you're pretty much guaranteed an amazing find for practically nothing.  Plus, it's always such a better story when you can surprise people with how much you managed to save on such a great outfit!

Dress: H&M (similar) || Sandals: MIA, via Marshalls ||
Belt: Forever 21 || Necklace: Forever 21 || Sunnies: aerie (similar)
Watch: c/o Fossil || Bag: Marshalls (similar + this round one is also great!

Not gonna lie, I feel like a boho Disney princess in this dress-- like Belle meets Coachella-- and I love it!  The bright red-orange color, tassels, and the off the shoulder; it's perfect!  And the added silver western-inspired belt and necklace adds to the festival vibes without getting too crazy, or having to overload on accessories!

I've rounded up some of my favorite off the shoulder dresses for this summer here for y'all (all $100 and under!!!):

Have you jumped on the OTS dress bandwagon yet?  :)

Joggers in Heels

Today's my day off, and I was all too ready to get into my joggers and tee and just relax. But I have to admit, I don't really like to just hang out in sweats; so I got a little fancy. Relaxing, watching Netflix and doing facial masks is so much better with a super cute pair of heels. Practical?  Not at all. But fun?  Absolutely; like Blair Waldorf, if she ever wore joggers (lol, 🙈).

Double Time

I don't typically buy bathing suits, like ever; I avoid it at all costs when I can.  I probably only wore a bathing suit like three times last summer.

This year is different though.  I've changed the way I eat (cutting out most junk food; I drink more water and eat more fruits and veggies), exercise more, and I feel much better about myself because of it!  I even bought a few new suits in celebration of my new found confidence! 😁

One Piece: aerie (on sale for $15!) || Jacket: rue21, via Poshmark (similar)* ||
Shoes: H&M, sold out (check in store sales section though!; similar) ||
Leggings: LC Lauren Conrad, clearance find (similar) || Belt: Forever 21 ||
Choker: Forever 21 || Sunnies: Wish app (similar)

*use code PNXBH when you sign up (for free!) to get $10 credit towards your first Poshmark find!

I just got this aerie one piece, because I loved how I felt when I tried it on; I felt like Khloe Kardashian with her banging new revenge body (it's empowering, everyone should try it)!

And honestly when I saw it, I bought it to wear as a body suit, not even to wear as swim!

Not gonna lie, I felt pretty badass in this outfit; like Sandy at the end of Grease, meets rocker boho (I don't know if rocker boho is a thing, but it is now!).  I love that it's sexy, but it's not overkill; the neckline is modest in the front and then the back and sides are low cut so it's just enough skin!  And the best part?  You can totally take this suit from the beach to the bar (perfect for weekend getaways or vacations)!!

What do you think about making your swim work double time?  :)
