Old Navy Round Up

I'm rounding up all my recent Old Navy finds that are on sale, right meow (and yes, I did mean to say "meow" instead of "now" lol)!  Old Navy has really stepped up their fashion game in the last couple of years, which is great news because they're also quite affordable.  So now, I'm pretty sure I shop at Old Navy at least once a week, or every two weeks.  As I type this my outfit is actually head to toe Old Navy...sorry not sorry!  :P

Their soft pants.  They're exactly that, soft and super comfortable. I wear them out, I wear them to work or just to hang out and run errands.

You can pretty much wear anything with this jumpsuit.  I like to dress it up for work with a cool blazer, or just wear it as is for casual days.  It's absolutely darling and I wish they made them in other colors (and maybe some with a sleeve), because I'd have them all.

The print, the laces, these sandals are so cool!  I love the style of the sandals because they're pretty unique. And the laces add a little something extra to it all.

Joggers and tunics. Both are my go-to when I don't want to think about what I'm going to wear to work. They look great together, but also look awesome with other pieces as well.

I've fallen in love with boyfriend jeans. I love everything about them. But now that it's summer, it's just getting too hot to wear them so often. A few weeks ago I found boyfriend shorts at Old Navy and I had to get them!  As you can see, I'm obsessed now. They've definitely become a summer staple; they're cool and comfy and I love pairing them with a button up or a fun graphic tee!

Like my jumpsuit, I like to dress this maxi up and down.  Sometimes I'll throw a shirt over it to look like a skirt.

And the classic blazer?  I couldn't even begin to tell you guys how many times I've worn this blazer. It's got some stretch to it, so it's comfortable, almost like wearing a sweatshirt to work!

The white eyelet dress.  I first discovered it through one of my favorite bloggers, Carly over at The College Prepster (seriously, check out her awesome blog and her Instagram) and ordered it seconds later! It fits almost any event. I've worn it to Easter, work, and a college graduation party already.

WIWW Link Up: Swan Princess

Last weekend I finally had enough money to do a little shopping after paying all my bills (#brokegirlproblems).  And it must have been fate because everywhere was having sales!!  I didn't pay full price for anything and left the mall with some pretty full bags without spending my last dollar (does anyone else count this as an accomplishment?).

One of my finds was in Aeropostale (where I haven't been in probably ten years!). I was super surprised to find quite a few things I liked!  One of the shirts I purchased was a swan print crop tee that was on sale for $4.  That's right, four bucks guys!

Did you guys have any super sale finds this week?  :)

Summertime with eShakti

A while back I had collaborated with eShakti for a review of their umbrella dress (featured here), and I love it!  What's so special about eShakti?  Their clothes are customizable!  Sleeves, hems, pockets; they provide great options for you to customize your piece to your tastes and comfort.  Not something you can do with any company when you order online (unless you want to bring them to a seamstress, but who wants to add something like that to their to-do list?).

This time they've asked me to look through their summer look book, review it, and share it with all you lovely readers!  :)

Summer Is Here

When I think of summer I think of: bright whites, ocean and sky blues, and fun pattern play!
Flamingos?  Yes please!  These patterns are seriously so much fun for the summer!  Bright pink screams summer fun, and it's a print I've been dying to try out!  The retro style of the white dress is something you don't see a lot, so I'm definitely a fan.  And the aqua dress has amazing bow details up by the collar that I love.

Gingham, in blue.  And in a retro shape.  I'm secretly in love with 50s housewife fashion (anyone else dying to channel their inner Betty Draper?), so I'm loving these dresses for summer!  For some reason, when I see blue gingham I think picnics and BBQs (AKA the best things about summer!)...anyone else?

I love chambray anytime, which makes it perfect for summer, because then you can transition these pieces to any other season.  Yay for versatility!

Scallops are reminiscent of ocean waves, as does chambray.  Denim is super durable, which is great for summertime adventures!  And jumpsuits?  My new favorite for spur of the moment romps; throw it on and go!
White and blue dresses?  I'm drooling over here.  Embroidered bib detail, bows on sleeves, laser cuts and anchors?  I want, no need, them all!  Bright whites and blues look uh-mazing with that summer glow from days out in the sun!

Pattern bottoms are a must.  How fun are these cactus print pants?  I've never even seen a cactus print before, and I have to have it!

And pompoms?  I'll take a pair of those too!  What I really love about these shorts are that they're not super short.  I'm tall (well, kind of...I'm 5'7") and have thick thighs, so the super cute pompom shorts, I can't really wear, they tend to be uncomfortable.  These ones have a longer inseam, and I'm totally digging them!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that eShakti comes out with more fun prints and some more bright colors!

The site is easy-peasy to navigate and they have great sales going on right now, so bows the time to pick up all your summer pieces!  At first it may seem expensive, but when you factor in the customization (plus, the quality is surprisingly awesome!), it's actually more of an investment piece if anything!

They've all been so kind to let me share a special deal with you lovely readers; a $35 gift card towards your purchase!

WIWW Link Up: Joggers, Leather + Stripes

Don't you love it when you find things in your closet that you forgot about?  And then you find a new way to wear it so you can put it to use again?

To save space in my closet, I hang up a couple of spaghetti strap shirts and tanks on one hanger.  So the other day when I was going through my closet to plan my outfits for the week, I re-discovered a faux-leather peplum tank I had gotten a while back.  I used to wear it to go out with friends on the weekends, but it's been a while since we've done that, so I had forgotten completely about the shirt.  Plus, I thought, is leather really appropriate for work?  But when I spotted my striped blazer (an awesome hand-me-down from my mom), I was like, "this could totally work"!  Needlessly to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I paired them both with my joggers and some bright D'Orsay flats.

The joggers tone down  the leather and makes it much more casual for the daytime, while the blazer makes the outfit office appropriate. Plus, the bright flats add a great pop of color to an otherwise monochromatic outfit.

And of course, you can't go wrong with the Ariana Grande half-up, half-down pony!

What do your guys think about daytime leather for work?  :)

Weekend Wear

Does anyone else ever leave Target with a bag full of goodies they didn't intend on buying?  You go in for one thing and come out with seven others. On Saturday I went in for windshield wiper fluid and came out with a bunch of other things (I did however, manage to remember to buy the wiper fluid, so still a productive visit in my books!).

One of the things that caught my eye was this super cute mini handbag!  It was in the bag clearance section, and I almost walked past it, but the bright red-orange caught my eye...and then so did the price tag!

Seriously, only $10.48?!  For that price I was ready to buy a second one in light blue, but being on a budget I had to rope in my excitement just buy the one.  I plan on using it all summer.

The brightness of this little bag is perfect for summer!  It adds a great pop of color to my outfits, especially since I happen to wear a lot of white and black, kind of like the outfit that I wore out with the girls this weekend.

I found this super cute off-the-shoulder while I was at Target (right after I found the bag, lol).  It tucked into my graphic Old Navy pants (on sale and under $30!) perfectly!

The size is awesome!  It looks small on the outside, but is super roomy on the inside!

And of course, a pair of aviators is the way to go in the summer!

What do you think of the mini bag?  :)

Safari Shirt, 3 Ways

I just got this Banana Republic safari shirt last week, and I've already styled it three times!
I wanted to tone down this dress a bit because for my job it's a little too fancy-shmancy.  Throwing a belt around it keeps it from looking like I just threw the button up over the dress; plus, it cinches the waist in and makes your waist look small (insert thumbs up emoji here!).

Girls' sushi date. Casual, and this shirt it perfect with boyfriend jeans!  The great thing about this shirt is that it has a nice length to it, so it's easy to tie up the bottom, which makes the outfit look a little more feminine and not so boxy.

Another work look. This one's a little more polished.  You can't go wrong pairing when you pair something with stripes or leopard (or both!).

Do you guys have a favorite button down that you love styling?

Slide on Over

I have to admit, when I first saw slide on sandals becoming a trend I was not jumping on that bandwagon.  When I thought of slide ons I automatically thought of the ones we wore after field hockey practice when we took our cleats off.  They were chunky, rubber slide ons and were practical, not fashionable.

But then I saw more and more styles and realized that the ones I knew, were not the slides I wore in high school.  The ones that are out now are so cute!  I especially love the gold and the leopard sandals I've been seeing!  These slides are the best of comfort and style, without the look of a boring flip flop (I'm not too big on flip flops--I only own one pair...lol).

What do you guys think about the slide sandal?  :)

WIWW Link-Up: Safari Meets City Girl

The last couple of days have been pretty icky with all the rain, and today it was just plain chilly. Isn't it almost summer?  Shouldn't it be sunny and warm?

Since it was colder than it's been lately, I decided to layer up.  It seems like a lot of times I'll go into work dressed for one type of weather, and then when I leave, the weather is changed completely!

Yesterday I picked up this safari shirt from Banana Republic (on sale, right meow!).  I didn't plan on buying anything at the mall, but when I saw this shirt (on sale, 40% off!) I just knew it would be an awesome staple piece (gotta give my chambray a break sometime, right?) and I knew I could style it so many different ways.

I don't know why, but whenever I buy something, I feel the need to wear it right away.  It's the same feeling I get when I order something online, and then the impatience that follows until whatever I ordered comes in the mail.  So I decided pair it with another new staple that I just added to my wardrobe.
I don't dress too fancy for work because I work at a library, and I'm constantly running around, shelving books, cleaning up, etc; but I still like dressing up instead of going into work in jeans, a tee and sneakers.  Most of the time I'm dressing up a cute pair of pants simply because it's more practical.  But every once in a while I'll break out a skirt or a dress that I really love.

I just bought this J. Crew scallop dress during the Memorial Day weekend sales for an engagement party that Richie and I will be attending later in the month.  But I love the color and shape (um, the scallops?  So cute!) so much that I wanted to wear it before the party.

I love layering statement necklaces with more dainty ones.  It's not so overwhelming or heavy, which is great for the summertime (heat+anything heavy around your neck= straight up misery).

*Get my sweetheart necklace, here, at BipAndBop, an awesome Etsy shop!*

And no outfit is complete without a little arm candy, am I right?  A "chunky" watch and bracelet is just enough of a statement without filling up your whole arm with bracelets (which is a big ol' pain in the butt if you work at a library)!
