Taking It Easy + Style Inspo: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Stuck on what to wear for the day (or night)?  My first go to is usual Pinterest (I also have a running list in my phone of outfit ideas that pop into my head!).  I go to one of my fashion boards (I got a few...lol || street style, celeb style, general fashion inspo, for your fancy-shmancy events), and scroll through quick to help me out in the morning.

As I've mentioned before, one of my favorite ways to find an outfit for the day, is to look towards stylish stars for a little inspiration.  It's a nice little accomplishment when you can recreate a celeb's look for a fraction of the cost!

I've recreated a few of my favorite celebs so far: Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Kourtney (here's a second one, cuz she's my favorite Kardashian lol) and Kim Kardashian; it's always a fun challenge!

And today I've channeled the beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley!

I love Rosie's look for a lot of reasons:

1. It's super easy for anyone to recreate because it's completely made up of wardrobe basics: ripped jeans, a comfy striped tee, and a good spring jacket (as well as some cute accessories that can be styled with a ton of different outfits!).

2. It's casual and comfy, but not sloppy.

3.  I love ripped jeans and striped tees; and together, I'd wear them every day if I could!

Style Inspo: Kendall Jenner + the Canadian Tux

I love trying to recreate celebrity looks with pieces I already own, because to me it means that you can still rock a killer OOTD without spending your whole paycheck...or maxing out your credit card (definitely don't do that, no matter how cute that celeb's shoes or bag is!).

One of my recent faves is Kendall Jenner (and check out my other recent celeb look alike OOTD: Gigi Hadid, here!).  Her street style is pretty laid back and simplistic and she always looks chic AF (high five girl!).  And for me that means that her style is easily attainable for a blogger on a budget (my wallet thanks you Miss Jenner).

This is one of the best ways to dress up the weekend, and still be comfortable: the Canadian tux.

The trick is not to be too matchy-matchy.  Mix up denim colors and textures; monochromatic is great...unless you match too much, and then you wind up looking like a blueberry (think Violet from Willy Wonka...yikes).

Otherwise, this outfit is super simple to recreate, and you probably already have all the pieces in your own closet (I did!).  My chambray pullover is already three years old!  It's a great staple piece to have in your closet because it's super versatile and can be dressed up or down.  And who doesn't own at least one pair of jeans?

What's your chic and easy weekend look?  :)

Style Inspo: Fringe + Gigi Hadid

Fringe has been super popular this year, and I'm totally on the bandwagon!  Even better?  Fringe on sweaters (even though this winter has been pretty mild so far)!

Gigi Hadid has easily become one of my favorite fashion inspirations!  Anyone who can (and does) rock fringe is a friend of mine.  She makes anything she wears look so effortlessly cool.

Since I unfortunately do not have her bank account, I re-created this particular favorite of mine, with all pieces that were under a hundred dollars (I admit to being a shopaholic, but I'm one on a tight budget).  It's such a simple look to throw together: sweater, jeans and boots; but the pieces themselves add interest: fringe on the sweater, ripped jeans, and a sleek over the knee boot.  In other words: perfection; you could wear this look anywhere.

This fringe sweater from Aerie is by far my favorite sweater in my wardrobe (I have both colors it comes in, and wish it came in more hues...burgundy perhaps, I'd fill my closet).

I love the fringe sweater because it's super easy to throw on and still look cool and put together at the same time (which is great for all my fellow lazy girls out there).  I can wear this to work, out with the friends, or just running errands (or all three in one day without having to change multiple times!).

Style Inspo: Jessica Alba

There's always a few days where I find myself in a style rut.  I look into my closet and in my dresser and I can't seem to find anything I like enough to put together into an outfit, #strugs.  One of my favorite ways to get some style inspirations is looking to celebrities.  Jessica Alba is definitely one of of my favorite celebrities to look to for fashion inspiration.  What I love about her style is that, like Kate Middleton and Emma Watson (two of my other favorite style inspirations), her style is so accessible because it's easily duplicated on a broke girl budget!

Sometimes being able to duplicate a celebrity look (or even something close to it), makes me love my outfit even more that day, because I was able to create a similar for hundreds of dollars less!

Seriously, casual yet fancy and chic at it's finest.  Classic LBD, paired with this uh-mazing bomber jacket and black pumps.

Pic. from Boutique to You
I need this entire outfit in my closet, stat.  I've really been digging these flared jeans lately, and have been keeping my eyes peeled for a pair flattering to my shape because I just love them!  Plus, jeans and a white tee combo?  Check and check.

Pic. from Daily Mail
I am an absolute sucker for a good blazer; so much so that I may actually have a problem (totally picked one up last weekend at the J. Crew Factory store...#sorrynotsorry!).  Like the flared jeans, I'm also loving long blazers (with and without sleeves...although I guess that would make them vest...so I guess long vests are also on my list!  lol), and have been searching for one to rock myself.

Seriously though, how can one person be so perfectly and effortlessly chic?!  If I could just copy and paste her wardrobe into my own, I'd be such a happy camper.

April Faves

April was a pretty good month for me. I turned 24 (guess that means I'm kind of an adult now, lol)!

I'm starting to become more confident as a blogger and really getting into the swing of things (posting more regularly, getting/taking more quality photos).  My personal style has also come a long way since I started blogging; I like how I look and feel good in the things I wear, which has definitely helped with my self-confidence and overall made me happier with myself! :)

I'm positive May is going to be a great month and I'm confident I'm going to improve my blogging even more!

Travel Style Inspo: Emma Watson

I'm still sick unfortunately (*insert frowny face here*), and it's the weekend (*add another frowny face* because who wants to be sick on the weekend?).  Buuuut, as a new blogger, I'm trying to be better with posting more frequently.

I'm keeping it short because I have a nasty headache and fever, but I just had to share this particular pin that I found: Emma Watson's latest travel outfit.  I've always been a fan of Emma Watson for years now (I'm a proud Harry Potter fan);   and now, she's definitely one of my style inspirations.

This airport look is such an easy outfit to put together, and so effortlessly chic!  I love this look because first of all, I love blazers, and secondly because she paired her's with stripes.

Picture from Refinery29
I'm not a huge sweatpants person anymore (I used to be a phys. ed. major in college for a couple of semesters, so I was always in work out clothes).  But I am a fan of the casual chic track pants that are going on now.  It's all the comforts of sweatpants, but with the structure and style of a pair of trousers.

I've put together the links for all of the original pieces that Emma Watson actually wore, and then after some searching, I have look alike pieces that are well under what the originals cost.

Original pieces:

Shopbop | SMYTHE Cut Out Blazer ($695)
Net-A-Porter | Tibi Bibelot crepe track pants ($285)
Farfetch | Theory Horizontal Stripe T-Shirt ($87)
Net-A-Porter | Tabitha Simmons Vera leather point-toe flats ($675)
Ray-Ban | Original Wayfarer Classic ($155)

Look-alike pieces:

Nordstrom | Calson Stripe relaxed tee (on sale for $17!)
Nordstrom | Mel by Melissa 'Pitanga' Ankle strap flats ($48)
Old Navy | Classic Blazer (on sale for $35!) | (I have this same blazer in navy and it is super comfy!)
Forever21 | Classic Wayfarer Sunglasses (definitely can't beat $4!)
Old Navy | Striped Jersey Pants (on sale for $15!  They're striped, but hardly look like it, and look more like solid black/dark grey!)
Nordstrom | Trouve Side Stripe Track Pants ($85)

What do you guys think of this travel outfit?

*p.s. check out my other style inspiration, Kate Middleton, here!

Style Inspo: Kate Middleton

Every girl wants to look like a princess; unfortunately most of us don't have the budget to do so (my wallet and I are pretty sad about it).  Enter, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge (and momma to the oh-so-adorable, Prince George).  Kate's style is actually attainable!  And *gasp*, like the rest of us, she wears things more than once!  She really is the people's princess.

I wish I could make a ponytail look so glamorous (but I have been getting pretty good at achieving some killer curls--check out my post, here, for the tutorial I use!)!  Her style is super effortless with a wardrobe full of classic pieces like: crisp button ups, skinny jeans, striped tops, tailored blazers, and simple wedges.

DRESS
Seraphine Black Turtleneck Vanessa dress (only $99, you can't beat originals that are also actually affordable too!)
GOLD NECKLACE
(Similar) Disco Station necklace set (on sale, $6.99!)

If I could have one person's wardrobe magically copied and pasted into my own, Kate Middleton is at the very tippy-top of my list at #1 (I really love blazers, and the color navy, and stripes, and...well you guys get the idea)!

And on a side note, has anyone else been inspired by the Duchess to want to rock a fascinator (I know I can't be the only one, lol)?  I've never been to any events that would require (or were fancy enough) to wear one, but if I ever do, I have plenty of inspiration!

P.S. I'm really hoping I get to wear one (...or five, because I'll have a hard time choosing just one!), one day.
